There’s Nothing Like a Credit Union!
Credit unions were started with the philosophy of “Not for profit, not for charity, but for service.” From the beginning credit unions strived to teach people to be economically independent by helping them learn to save money and borrow responsibly.
Credit unions are full service financial institutions that offer the same products, loans, and services as banks, however we are different in some ways. Credit unions are not for profit and are owned by its members. Credit unions have a volunteer board of directors that is voted on by its membership. Credit union earnings are returned to the membership in forms of better rates, fewer and lower fees, improved services, and dividends. Credit unions are federally insured by either the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) or a private insurer.
As time changes, credit unions have to constantly adapt to meet the needs of members. However, one constant will remain and that is service to our members will always be the top priority!
